Trail is in great shape and beautiful place to ride, run or walk
Decent trail. Used to be a railroad track but had all tracks taken out leveled and covered with pea gravel. Excellent place to walk run mountain bike can travel all the way to Fairmont. No motorized vehicles allowed.
Trailhead has adequate (if sometimes muddy) place to park. Good section of trail. Stays reasonably dry except in the wettest periods. If you go west the trail slopes down and takes you past the back of Greer limestone quarries and to Morgantown; if biking, much of the trip all you need are brakes (but you may want to arrange a ride back, or start at the bottom in Sabraton). If you go east, it is only very slightly uphill, mostly wooded, and within about a mile there are 3 bridges crossing Deckers Creek which kids love to throw sticks from. A few more miles east through more open areas and past the old Bretz coke ovens brings you out near Superior Fibers in Reedsville along Rte 92.
Wish it was paved. Otherwise, I like it best in early morning when not many people are out.
Great place to park for the rail trail. There is a nice pavilion for a picnic there too.
